Do you know why I don’t wear shorts? The answer may surprise you.
A (former) friend and neighbour once asked, ‘Why do you always wear dresses? Why can’t you wear shorts?”
Later I learned that her husband said to her, “Why can’t you dress like Cassandra?”
Ouch!

I don’t wear dresses to make other women feel bad. I wear them because I like feeling free, I hate the feeling of anything pressing on my waist. Gerard the Giraffe, my studio muse, likes being free too!
I like being free with colour in my art. I paint with vibrant colours because I love the way they make me feel. I was listening to a podcast the other day where the artist shared she hated painting in colours. She loved black. She liked painting angry, ugly paintings (her words).
That’s not my vibe, nor the passion and purpose behind my work. I love to create painting that make people feel happy.🥰🌞💐👍💮
But this may shock you…
I tried to make my friend happy. I went shopping and tried on shorts! I just couldn’t bring myself to wear them! Shorts and I don’t make each other happy. Just like I’ve painted a few black and grey paintings, just to push myself, but I always come back to my love of colour.
Here are a my few of my latest happy paintings—and yes, they are colour rich. Personally, I think they would make great dresses—or shorts! Or men’s undies. LOL!!

As Mother’s Day approaches, you may find yourself reflecting on the remarkable influence your mother has had on your life.
Honour your mum in a unique and meaningful way with floral art.
On my recent blog, I share a few of the many reasons a floral painting is the perfect gift to celebrate the beauty, joy and grace of motherhood.
1. A Language of Love: Flowers have long been regarded as a universal language of love and appreciation. They possess the power to convey emotions and sentiments that words often fail to express. Floral art, with its intricate designs and vibrant colors, serves as a visual representation of our deep affection for our mothers. By gifting floral art, we not only bring a burst of beauty into their lives, but we also communicate our gratitude and admiration for their selfless love.
