Hi, I’m Cassandra Gaisford, I’ve been an abstract painter for many years now. Nowadays abstraction is my greatest form of expression. It allows me to speak without words, express myself and my feelings.

One of the gifts of all the lockdown years was the opportunity to devote myself to art once again. During this time I decided to turn up for love and joy and to share this with the world. During all those years of fear, anger, sadness, death, loss and hate, I found purpose—creating happiness for others.

In this video, a gorgeous lady shares how one of my beeswax artworks touched her soul. Donna was one of the first visitors to my home-based studio when I converted an old farm shed into an art space.

Donna invited me for lunch at her home to see where she had placed her new happy art, and shared her experience in the hope that she would inspire others.

“Here I am with my beautiful painting of Cassandra’s, and what I love about it is that I came from Rotorua and to me it looks like a geyser, the colour and the steam and the action; and then I just love the hints of gold through it and pink, my favourite colour. So I saw it in her gallery and I fell in love with it immediately, and I walked around the house and thought ‘Where can I find a home for it?’

And here it is in my dining room. It’s called Dancing with Life. I’d had a very nasty little experience, and after I came to see you I felt so buoyant and so happy. And it’s my happy art piece from Cassandra.”

I know how comforting a beautiful soul-inspired painting can be. When I share my heart I transcend lower vibe feelings and send these love-inspired, hope-infused paintings out into the world.

This is why both my chosen charities, Women’s Refuge and Hospice NZ, are close to my heart. Women’s Refuge is my chosen charity to donate to for people who purchase my paintings or join my creativity workshops. You may like to know that each painting sold or enrolment made helps empower a victim of family violence by offering a safe, supportive place to stay.

I have also donated and will continue to, pieces to Hospice New Zealand. I remember what a bright light Hospice was offering respite care to my stepfather during his last months.

I’ve also created bespoke works in memory of loved ones who have been lost to cancer.

The Art of Life Inspiration Deck

I drew this card today before writing this post, and it reminded me of the lovely memory of seeing this piece which I created with love and joy in my heart going to a new collector. I wanted to share this joy with you and other happy memories—as a counterbalance to the ongoing fear contamination belching into our psyches.

“A New Earth of Love” was born from a moment of deep artistic rediscovery, embracing my first love of pastel painting and the soul-enriching delight of flowers and luminous color. Created under the nurturing energy of the pink flower new moon in Taurus (ruled by Venus, the goddess of love), this piece was inspired by an ancient Camellia in the garden—a whisper of beauty from the past, blooming into the present.
