“Patience protects against misfortune as warm clothes protect against the cold. The warmer you dress the more powerless you make the storm. In the same way increasing your patience in the face of wrong renders them powerless against your peace of mind.”
~ Leonardo da Vinci

We live in a world that glorifies the hustle. We’re taught to push, grind, and chase success at all costs. Productivity is often mistaken for purpose, and busyness for fulfillment. Yet, there’s a quieter, more profound force at work—one that doesn’t demand exhaustion as its price. That force is grace.

The phrase on the card, “Grace will take you places hustling won’t,” from my Art of Life Inspiration deck, is a gentle but powerful reminder that life isn’t solely about effort—it’s about alignment. Hustle alone can get us far, but it often comes with burnout, stress, and a feeling of never quite arriving. Grace, on the other hand, carries us forward in ways that feel effortless, meaningful, and sustainable.
Hustle is fueled by fear—fear of not being enough, of not doing enough, of falling behind. It tells us that rest is a weakness and that slowing down means losing momentum. Hustle is loud, restless, and relentless.
Grace, however, is the opposite. It moves with ease, not because it lacks effort, but because it’s aligned with flow. Grace trusts the process. It embraces stillness as much as action. Grace doesn’t force; it allows.

1. Trust in Timing
Not everything is meant to happen immediately. When we operate from a place of grace, we trust that what is meant for us will come—not by sheer force, but by divine orchestration. As Leonardo reminds us, patience is power.
2. Embrace Rest as a Strategy
Rest is not a reward for hard work; it is a necessity for sustainable success. When we rest, we create space for clarity, intuition, and renewal.
3. Let Go of the Need for Constant Control
Hustling often stems from the belief that we must control every detail. Grace reminds us to release that grip. Sometimes, the best opportunities arise when we surrender and let life unfold naturally.
4. Align with Purpose, Not Just Productivity
Hustling can make you busy, but grace makes you purposeful. It’s not about how much you do, but whether what you do is meaningful.
5. Move with Ease, Not Urgency
When we act from grace, we move with intention rather than panic. We take inspired action instead of chaotic steps.
Where Grace Can Take You
Grace will open doors you never knocked on. It will lead you to people, opportunities, and experiences that hard work alone could never force into place. It will take you to places where hustle alone would have left you too tired to enjoy the view.
So today, pause. Breathe. Trust. Instead of hustling toward a destination, flow gracefully toward it. You may just find that grace will take you farther than you ever imagined.

This painting, Triumph of Venus, is a symbolic reminder to flow gracefully. She is hanging in my office. Would she look beautiful in your home?
