How to find inspiration each day

If you’ve been following me for a while now, you’ll know I sow the seed for daily inspiration by drawing an oracle card every day and tuning in to divine guidance.

This is a card I drew today from  The Art of Life Inspiration Deck. The painting is Te Ataroa and was inspired by and named after a beautiful baby who was only three months old when I saw her while she was with her mum shopping for groceries.

The young mum and her husband had lost a little girl who, a year earlier, was stillborn. Their new daughter Te Ataroa was a blessing. Translated her name means “the long morning”.

As I painted the artwork I imagined Te Ataroa’s sister shining down from heaven, sending her family endless kisses across the morning sky. The colours were inspired by the pretty little pink, white, and green floral dress Te Ataroa was wearing when I met her.

I showed the young couple a photo of the painting and they told me that their mother wept because it touched her heart. After exhibiting this painting in a group exhibition, The Beauty of Resilience, just as New Zealand emerged from the first Covid lockdown in 2020, I gifted this painting to the family.

“Omg! That is the most wonderful story. It brought tears to my eyes and gave me chills! You’re such a wonderful person to share your God-given talents with this family. May God continue
to bless you,” an artist, Geri Sullivan, wrote to me when I shared this story.

This painting is not available but commissions are welcome.

One of the best ways to find inspiration daily is to follow your bliss. I share more tips on following your bliss in my popular book, How To Find Your Passion And Purpose: Four Easy Steps to Discover A Job You Want and Live the Life You Love

If you want to discover what makes you happy look at your passionate obsessions. A healthy obsession can be a liberating and clarifying catalyst to your true calling and career direction—especially for people in the mid-life zone. With maturity comes renewed confidence and determination to pursue the things they are truly passionate about.

“When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds. Your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in a new, great and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be.”
