Pseudo-Happiness:

True Happiness:

“I express joy and gratitude in my life with the proper combination of passion and humility.”

One would think that expressing joy should never be a problem. Yet to be successful at work, relationships, or in society in general, it’s important to, when appropriate, curb our enthusiasm. Learning how to be happy and not gloat is a complicated skill.

In the past, women were supposed to be more humble and modest about their accomplishments, whereas men were allowed to openly celebrate their successes.

Now, in the 21st century, women are breaking through the “glass ceiling” in careers, and learning how to promote their achievements.

If we don’t acknowledge to ourselves how far we’ve come, our body can’t fully experience the happiness and the “thrill of victory.”
