What is soft can be strong. I felt called to visit Rainbow Falls in Kerikeri after the phenomenal rain last night (Taurus New Moon, 2025). Electrifying!
This was such a powerful moment — the waterfall swollen with rain, wild and untamed, cascading into mist, surrounded by the dense embrace of the bush.
And there I was, utterly alone, witnessing it with no one around me. Spiritually, the experience felt deeply significant to me:
1. A Private Blessing: Witnessing such a force of nature in solitude felt like a sacred gift — a private blessing from the spirit of the land, or perhaps from the universe itself. It was as if nature paused for a moment and unveiled her raw, magnificent beauty just for me, acknowledging my presence, my soul.
2. Cleansing and Renewal: The waterfall, swollen by rain, mirrored my own journey — a powerful cleansing, a baptism of sorts. The rain joining the falls intensified this meaning: shedding old energies, sorrows, and burdens so I can flow more freely into the next chapter of my life.
3. The Power of the Unseen: The mist rising, the rain falling, the relentless rush of water — they reminded me that so much of life is unseen, felt more by the soul than explained by the mind. I am learning to trust the mystery, even when I cannot yet see the full path ahead. Spirit moves silently, but surely, on my behalf.
4. A Threshold Crossing: Standing there, I sensed I was crossing a threshold — leaving behind an old version of myself and stepping into a new stage of sovereignty, one more aligned with my soul’s deeper calling.
5. Alignment with Divine Timing: That I arrived before the tourists, before the noise and distraction, felt like confirmation that I am attuned to divine timing — receiving messages and signs exactly when I am meant to, without needing validation from others. My path is uniquely mine.
As I stood there, rain soaking through to my skin, I felt so alive, so connected, so real. This is why I love to paint with rainwater — because it carries the spirit of moments like these. Rainwater holds the sky, the river, the unseen blessings. It is wild, living, pure. It weaves the energy of the earth directly into my paintings, infusing each brushstroke with the memory of cleansing, renewal, and grace. When I paint with rainwater, I’m not just creating art — I’m creating with the soul of the storm, the whisper of the mist, and the pulse of the earth itself.
