Who inspires you?

Who inspires you and why? If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know that music legend Eric Clapton inspires me for his rebellious courage in speaking out about vaccines and mandates, anxiety and suicide. And for his great song, written by Van Morrison, “It’s got to stop”

And also, one of my muses, Coco Chanel, who suffered such pain and loss throughout her life and still showed up for beauty. I hope you enjoy this excerpt from The Art of Success: How Extraordinary Artists Can Help You Succeed in Business and Life (Book Two: Coco Chanel). You’ll hear me sharing the inspiration behind this book and narrating Chapter One: What is Success?

When it comes to writing, Danielle Steele remains a favourite. Why? She’s so relatable—her three doomed marriages (including to an addict); the struggles she endured with her bipolar son who later took his life—and the passion and purpose she pours into all her books to help others have the courage to endure life’s ups and downs. I read the non-fiction book she wrote about her son’s life and was so helped throughout the struggle to support my daughter when she was ill.

I also love that she once had her own art gallery and loves to support fledgling artists and her passion for interior design, too. Danielle inspires me because she writes in so many genres, romance, children’s books, non-fiction and more—and I love that she works on more than one project at a time. Like Danielle, I love to write stories that fictionalise the everyday struggles we all go through—and I love to create happy endings:). I share more about why I love writing romance on my blog.

So, I thought you might enjoy my romance collection—many of them have art-related themes and are all love-infused—perfect for reading on the Summer (or Winter) solstice coming soon. This year, June 21 marks the solstice: depending on where you are in the world, the date marks the longest stretch of daylight or nighttime all year. What better way to celebrate than reading a wonder-filled book? If you’re looking for a book you can enjoy in a single sitting, check out my list of full-length page-turners for the longest day of 2022 — including heartwarming romance, light-hearted and fun, fast-paced suspense, and more.

How about you? Who do you admire? Why? How could they inspire you to have the courage and boldness to chase your dreams?
