ANCHOR THE LIGHT

I received this timely email from Alan Clay from Dwarf Planet University today. Like Alan, I am very thankful, as I enter my 6th decade on planet earth that I too, am much loved for the inspiration I bring. Something for which I am very grateful.

Just yesterday, I bumped into the lovely lady who came with her daughter to visit me in the studio when they were feeling sad and missing their husband/father who had taken his life. They wanted to find a painting that could help them feel happy. Imagine that! Being able to give that gift to people after such profound sadness.

I love, love, love the name Bree created for the painting she fell in love with when she came to the studio with her mum. 

Here’s is Alan’s post:

“I hope you are enjoying today’s Mars sextile Pluto. This is a time to take action to transform your life. Mercury will turn retrograde at the end of this week, and Jupiter in the middle of next week, so these next days are the best time in the next few weeks to reach out in your communications, expand your life, and make any changes.

Meanwhile Varda, our new planet of inspiration consciousness, at 28 degrees of Sagittarius, is sextile Venus and semi-square the Sun. Varda is the interactive struggle we have with the dark forces in the world, which we win by being inspiring and hopeful, and by creating light in the dark times and places. So the semi-square to the Sun is challenging you to make a move today in your interactive struggle with your opponents.

In the mythology of The Lord of the Rings, Varda is a much loved being of light who is an inspiration to many. She is the star-kindler, creating light in the darkness, and she is particularly adored by the Elves, who hold her in deep devotion. They often sing hymns and offer prayers to her, reflecting their deep spiritual connection and their love.

So with today’s sextile to Venus, by bringing light into the world, you may find that you can call love into your life and attract loving relationships. Or, if you’re looking for light in the darkness, you may be able to find someone who can shed some light on something for you, or show you the way to find more light and hope in your life.

Sometimes the darkness in our lives can feel overwhelming and we find ourselves in a ‘dark night of the soul’. At these times Varda gives us hope, which is a powerful shaping force in our lives, because it gives us motivation, resilience, and a sense of agency to overcome our challenges and improve our well-being. By opening to hope in your relationships in these next days you will be better able to face the interactive struggles in your life with a positive outlook, which enables you to work toward your goals by focusing on potential solutions and a better future.

In the myth, the mention of Varda’s name in moments of desperation, calls her divine aid. Both Frodo Baggins and Samwise Gamgee invoke her name during critical moments. Frodo calls upon Varda at Weathertop when faced with the Witch-king, and Sam does so when confronted with the terrifying and malevolent giant spider, Shelob. So, by reaching out through your relationships in these next days, you may also be able to find protection in some way. Or you may be able to provide some protection to someone close to you.

So, Varda is about our chase for light and creative blessing, but because in the myth she is on the receiving end of a win-at-all-costs battle for domination by the Dark Lord, she’s also about those who feel small and uncomfortable when another is blessed with well-deserved love and appreciation. So when we’re reacting at the unconscious level, with the sextile to Venus, we have to be careful of being resentful of the success of others. 

At this level she highlights the need to get out of the toxicity and stagnancy of visions gone sour and then to regenerate, to build new ones that have stability. And she supports us to walk away from previous betrayals and associations and encourages us to look towards new horizons and start afresh elsewhere. So, these next days, with the Mars sextile Pluto and Venus sextile Varda, are a great time to make these moves if you need to.

Varda inspired her people with light and hope when the Dark Lord took over the Middle Earth, and she led the Elves away from danger and through a transition to a new safer home. So, as we develop spiritually, she represents a sense of wonder, and a rite of passage from one state into another. She brings light and hope into our darkness as we awaken to the truth of our reality, and she reveals a new paradigm.

So, at the top level, she brings the ability to inspire others and lead them through a transition to a new state of being. This means that in these next days, by opening to the wonder of your relationships, you may be able to find someone to help you transition to a new state of being. Or you may be able to help someone else transition in their lives. 

If you know the house position of Varda in your chart, this is the area of your life in which this light-finding, or light-bringing, consciousness is working. To use myself as a case study, I have Varda in the 10th house, and I have long felt that inspiring others is the most effective way for me to work in society. And, as I get older – and I turn 71 in a couple of days – I find that I am much loved for the inspiration I bring. Something for which I am very thankful.”
